ONE GOOD TIP TO HELP YOU GET TO HAPPY

To be happy with who you are in this life requires internal focus, getting to know and accept YOUrself. Internal focus is an ongoing process because we are always growing, evolving, and changing. This focus is increasingly difficult to achieve with the overwhelming abundance of bombarding electronics vying for our attention, money, and limited time. 

Where the Real Power is 

It may be very helpful to detach from, as many of these devices for at least 24 hours as possible, from time to time.  It’s so easy to become addicted to being attached to the external and detached from the internal.  But the internal is where your power is.  It’s where authentic change takes place and that’s how and where you harness your power.  Not glued to devices that are ultimately programmed to manipulate you out of your money by having you compare yourself to others, fall short, think less of yourself for not measuring up, and convince you that you aren’t good enough so you’ll go out and buy, buy, buy to compensate for the low self-esteem they’ve created.  Let’s face it, you being happy isn’t particularly good for the world economy.  The worst part is that this subtle manipulation is done under the guise of objectively educating and entertaining us.  That is not to say there aren’t pockets of fair-minded and objective educational and valuable social media around, but it’s no longer the norm or readily found.

 

Tuning Out is Tuning In

I am all for progress, entertainment and the many advantages these devices provide, but detaching seems to be the only way to be able to hear the quiet whispering of your soul guiding and comforting you.  It doesn’t require meditating, praying, chanting, journaling, or Tai chi, yoga. Just being quietly available, and you can’t do that while focusing on electronic devices.  

 

No Apps Necessary

“There is a consistent cycle of illumination, challenge, discomfort, acceptance, release, illumination.  We can choose to resist or choose to move through the resistance we feel (a natural part of any process,)” according to Michele Curtis, Alternative Health Care Practitioner, Spiritual Counselor, and Writer.  It is good advice indeed.
